Activities   We look forward to many different activities throughout the school year. In October, we journey to the Oak Canyon Nature Center. This trip ties in with our language arts theme for that month, Nature Walk. The student love taking hikes and learning about animals and ecosystems. In February, we present our Patriotic Program. Second grade sings seven patriotic songs to celebrate the United States. They also give presentations about important moments in U.S. History, including the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the Moon landing. We take a trip to the Orange County Performing Arts Center in March to see the Disneyland Band. It is a great experience for the students. Since Miss V. is half Irish, Room 26 also has a huge St. Patrick's Day celebration which has always been a hit. We're looking forward to the grand re-opening of our local library in May. We will be walking to the library to see the new improvement. Our end of the year activity is another walking field trip to the local park. The last day of school is filled with fun games in celebration of a wonderful year. Return to the Homepage
